Who Tbaytel is built for — and who it isn't
Tbaytel is the incumbent carrier in Thunder Bay and Unifi is its hosted business phone service. If you already buy internet and mobility from Tbaytel and want one bill from one provider, it is a reasonable choice.
Unifi is sold as three per-line tiers. Basic ($24.95/mo for months 1–36, then $29.95) includes 3¢/min North American long distance. Enhanced ($34.95 then $39.95) and Premium ($39.95 then $44.95) add unlimited Canada & U.S. long distance, a soft client and a bundled Polycom VVX 250 desk set; Premium adds the mobile app.
Where the Tbaytel Unifi model can work against a Northern Ontario business
The rate steps up after month 36
Every Unifi tier is listed as one price for "months 1-36" and a higher "regular rate" after that: Basic $24.95 → $29.95, Enhanced $34.95 → $39.95, Premium $39.95 → $44.95. DVGVoIP's published rate does not change at month 37.
The auto-attendant is a paid add-on
On the Unifi plans page the Auto Attendant/IVR is listed at $16.95 per month and Ring Group, Fax to Email and Paging Group at $9.95 per month each, on top of the tier price. DVGVoIP includes the auto-attendant, ring groups and voicemail-to-email on every plan.
Basic still meters long distance
Unifi Basic includes "3¢/min North American Long Distance"; unlimited Canada & U.S. calling starts at Enhanced. DVGVoIP includes unlimited Canada & U.S. calling on Starter.

If internet, mobility and phones all come from Tbaytel today and a single account matters more than the monthly number, Unifi keeps it that way. DVGVoIP runs over any internet connection, including Tbaytel fibre, but it is a second invoice.
A bundled handset is what you are after
Enhanced and Premium ship with a Polycom VVX 250 in the monthly price. DVGVoIP quotes phones separately and you own them, which costs more up front and less over the life of the system.

Yes. Business numbers port to DVGVoIP through the normal CRTC porting process, typically in 5 to 10 business days. Your callers dial the same number.
Do I need to change my internet provider?

Can I reuse Polycom phones from Tbaytel?
