Using 3CX Web Meetings

3CX includes a built-in web conferencing tool called 3CX Meet. You can start a meeting instantly from the web client or send a 3CX Meet link to anyone — they can join from their browser without installing anything.

Starting a Meeting

There are two ways to start a meeting:

1. Open the 3CX Web Client in your browser and click the Video Conference icon in the left sidebar.
2. Click New Meeting. A unique meeting room URL is generated immediately.
3. You can start the meeting right away or schedule it for later.

Alternatively, start a meeting directly from a call: while on a call, click + Add Video to escalate to a video conference.

Inviting Participants

Every meeting has a unique 3CX Meet link in the format meet.3cx.com/yourcompany#roomname.

1. Copy the meeting link from the meeting room screen.
2. Send it to participants via email, chat, or SMS — they do not need a 3CX account.
3. Participants click the link and join directly in their browser (Chrome, Edge, or Firefox recommended).

Tip: Internal colleagues can also join from the 3CX web client by clicking the meeting in their calendar or accepting a direct invitation.

Screen Sharing

1. Once inside the meeting, click the Share Screen button in the meeting toolbar.
2. Choose to share your entire screen, a specific application window, or a browser tab.
3. Click Stop Sharing when finished — your camera feed returns automatically.

All participants can see your shared screen in real time. Only one participant can share their screen at a time.

Surveys and Polls

You can run a quick poll during a meeting to gather feedback or votes from participants.

1. Click the Poll icon in the meeting toolbar (looks like a bar chart).
2. Type your question and add up to four answer options.
3. Click Start Poll — participants see the poll on their screen and vote instantly.
4. Results are shown live to all participants once voting closes.

Joining from a Browser (No Software Required)

Anyone with a meeting link can join without installing software:

• Open the meeting link in Chrome, Edge, or Firefox
• Allow camera and microphone access when prompted
• Enter your name and click Join Meeting
• No account or app download required

Note: Safari on iPhone/iPad has limited WebRTC support. For best results on mobile, use the 3CX app instead of a browser. See the Mobile App Setup guide.
