Who RingCentral is built for — and who it isn't

RingCentral is one of the largest cloud phone platforms in the world and RingEX is a polished product: one app for calls, meetings and chat, a deep integration catalogue and an AI feature set that grows every quarter. For a distributed company that wants to self-manage a national system, it is a credible choice.

The Canadian pricing page lists three seats for 1–5 users: Core ($30 paid annually / $40 monthly), Advanced ($35 / $45) and Ultra ($45 / $55). CRM integrations and multi-site connection start at Advanced. Toll-free minutes and SMS are capped per tier, and a set of "boosters" and AI add-ons sit on top.

Where the RingCentral RingEX model can work against a Northern Ontario business

The headline price needs annual prepayment

The page says "Save up to 33% by paying annually" and shows the lower figure with the Annually toggle selected. Billed monthly, Core is $40, Advanced $45 and Ultra $55 per user. DVGVoIP's $22 / $19 is the month-to-month price; annual billing is an optional discount of up to 10%.

CRM and multi-site sit one tier up

On RingCentral's table "CRM integrations" and "Connect multiple sites" are listed under Advanced ("Everything in Core PLUS"). A Thunder Bay business with a second office in Marathon pays the Advanced rate for every seat. DVGVoIP includes HubSpot and Salesforce on Business, and multi-site on Enterprise, with no per-seat step for it.

Extras ladder up as add-ons

RingCentral lists AI Receptionist "Starts at $55", Call Queues Booster "$50", Business SMS Booster "$35", extra numbers "$4.99/month", and notes "Additional toll-free minutes available for purchase" and "Phone rental available only with multi-year contract". DVGVoIP includes call queues on Business and you own your phones outright.

When RingCentral might still be the right choice

We would rather tell you now than after you switch.

You need a specific pre-built connector today

RingCentral ships a large catalogue of ready-made integrations (Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk, ServiceNow and more). 3CX covers the major CRMs and has an open API, but if your workflow depends on a niche connector that RingCentral already has, check it exists on 3CX before you move.

You run webinars and large-scale events

RingCentral Webinar, Events and Rooms are a real product line. 3CX video is built for meetings up to 250 people, not branded 500-attendee webinars.

Looking for a RingCentral alternative in Northern Ontario? Common questions

Is DVGVoIP cheaper than RingCentral?

On the published Canadian prices, yes. RingCentral RingEX is $30 to $45 per user per month paid annually, or $40 to $55 billed monthly, for 1 to 5 users. DVGVoIP is $22 per user for 1 to 10 users or $19 for 11 to 50, month-to-month. Send us your RingCentral quote and we will compare it line by line.

Does DVGVoIP need an annual contract?

No. Plans are month-to-month. If you prefer annual billing, it saves up to 10 percent, but the published price does not depend on it.

Can I keep my RingCentral numbers?

Yes. Your business numbers port to DVGVoIP through the standard Canadian porting process, typically in 5 to 10 business days. Check your numbers with our portability tool first.

Can I reuse RingCentral desk phones?

Sometimes. Phones purchased outright from RingCentral are often Poly or Yealink sets that can be unlocked for standard SIP; rented phones go back to RingCentral. We check each model in the free assessment.

What do I lose leaving RingCentral for 3CX?

Mostly the RingCentral-specific extras: its webinar and events products, the AI Receptionist add-on and the deepest end of its integration catalogue. You keep calling, video, mobile and desktop apps, call queues, recording and CRM integration, and you gain a local team that manages the system for you.
