DVGVoIP vs 8x8: one of us publishes the price.

8x8's pricing page lists five product lines and no dollar figures; every one ends in "Request a Quote". DVGVoIP hosted 3CX is $22 or $19 per user per month, on the website, month-to-month.

Who 8x8 is built for — and who it isn't

8x8 is a global communications vendor whose strength is the contact centre: omnichannel routing, agent and supervisor workspaces, workforce engagement and a no-code messaging API, alongside 8x8 Work for calls, meetings and chat and an integration for Microsoft Teams.

What the pricing page does not do is price any of it. As of our check, 8x8 Work, 8x8 Contact Center, 8x8 Engage, the Communications APIs and 8x8 for Microsoft Teams are all "Request a Quote" or "Chat with Sales", with no plan tiers or per-user rates shown.

Where the 8x8 Work model can work against a Northern Ontario business

No published price

The pricing page describes 8x8 Work's capabilities (Call, Meet, Message, Receptionist Console, System Analytics, Global Coverage, Integrations) and offers "Request a Quote" and "Chat with Sales". There is no per-user rate, no tier list and no contract term on the page. DVGVoIP prints $22 Starter / $19 Business per user and "no contracts".

Built around the contact centre

8x8 leads its pricing page with Contact Center and Engage, then CPaaS, then 8x8 Work. A 12-person law office or clinic in Thunder Bay is buying a phone system, not an omnichannel platform, and pays for a sales cycle sized for the latter.

Support is remote by design

The page's contact paths are "Chat with a CX Expert", "Request a Quote" and "Contact Us". There is no local presence in Northwestern Ontario. DVGVoIP's team is in Thunder Bay and deploys on-site across the region.

8x8 details as published on 8x8's own site, checked September 6, 2026. Vendor pricing and packaging change — see the current page and we'll update ours.

When 8x8 might still be the right choice

We would rather tell you now than after you switch.

You are buying a contact centre, not a phone system

If you need omnichannel routing, workforce management, supervisor dashboards and high-volume messaging for a real contact centre, 8x8 is built for that and 3CX is not.

You operate in many countries

8x8 markets "Global Coverage" and a CPaaS for messaging worldwide. DVGVoIP is a Northern Ontario provider with Canada and U.S. calling included; international operations are not our focus.

Looking for a 8x8 alternative in Northern Ontario? Common questions

How much does 8x8 cost?

We cannot tell you, and neither does 8x8's pricing page, which lists "Request a Quote" for every product. DVGVoIP is $22 per user per month for 1 to 10 users or $19 for 11 to 50, published on our pricing page.

Is 8x8 overkill for a small business?

Often. 8x8 leads with its contact centre and customer engagement products. If you need a reliable phone system with an auto-attendant, queues, recording, video and mobile apps for a team in Northern Ontario, hosted 3CX from DVGVoIP covers it at a published price.

Can I port my numbers from 8x8?

Yes. Canadian business numbers port to DVGVoIP through the standard porting process, typically in 5 to 10 business days.

Does DVGVoIP have a contact centre option?

The Business plan includes call queues, ring groups, call recording and a call dashboard, which covers most small-business front desks and help lines. If you need a full omnichannel contact centre, tell us in the assessment and we will say honestly whether 3CX fits.

Where is DVGVoIP's support?

Thunder Bay. DVGVoIP is a division of DVG Systems, with technicians who deploy on-site across Thunder Bay, Nipigon, Marathon, Geraldton, Timmins and other Northern Ontario communities. Open a ticket at support@dvgvoip.com or call (807) 700-7111.
