How to Log In to the 3CX Web Client

Access your DVGVoIP phone system from any browser — make calls, check messages, and manage your status without installing any software.

What Is the 3CX Web Client

The 3CX web client is a browser-based interface that gives you full access to your DVGVoIP phone system from any computer or tablet. You can make and receive calls, send internal chat messages, manage contacts, join meetings, and set your availability status — all without installing any software.

It is the recommended way to use your system when at a desk without a physical phone, when working from home, or when you need to access your extension from a device that does not have the 3CX desktop app installed.

Finding Your Web Client URL

Your web client URL was included in the welcome email DVGVoIP sent when your system was provisioned. It follows the format:

https://[pbxurl]/webclient

The [pbxurl] portion is specific to your account — it is not a generic address. If you have lost your welcome email, contact DVGVoIP support and we can resend it or confirm your URL.

Tip: Bookmark the web client URL in your browser so you can return to it quickly. You can also pin the tab in Chrome or Edge to keep it open throughout the day.

Logging In

  1. Open your web client URL in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. These browsers offer the best compatibility with 3CX, including support for WebRTC calls directly in the browser.
  2. On the login screen, enter either your extension number (e.g., 101) or the email address associated with your extension. Both work as your username.
  3. Enter your password. Passwords are case-sensitive.
  4. Click Sign In. The system will load your extension and connect to the server.
  5. If this is your first login, you may be prompted to change your password. Choose a new password that is at least 8 characters and includes a mix of letters and numbers.

Note: Firefox and Safari can be used to access the web client interface, but WebRTC calling (making calls directly from the browser) works most reliably in Chrome or Edge. If calls are not connecting from Safari, try switching browsers.

Resetting Your Password

If you have forgotten your password or your account is locked, you can reset it from the login page without contacting support.

  1. Go to your web client URL and click "Forgot Password" below the login form.
  2. Enter the email address associated with your extension.
  3. Check your email for a password reset link. The link is valid for 30 minutes.
  4. Click the link and enter a new password when prompted.
  5. Return to the web client URL and log in with your new password.

If the password reset email does not arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder. If the email address on your extension is incorrect or you do not have access to it, contact support@dvgvoip.com and we can update it.

Navigating the Interface

Once logged in, the 3CX web client uses a left-hand sidebar to organize its main sections:

SectionWhat It Does
CallsMake calls, view call history, access the dial pad, and manage active calls including hold, transfer, and conference.
ChatSend and receive internal messages with other extensions on your system. Supports file sharing.
ContactsView your company directory, personal contacts, and search for extensions by name.
MeetingsSchedule and join video meetings. Participants can join from a browser link without installing software.
VoicemailListen to, delete, and manage voicemail messages left on your extension.

Setting Your Status

Your availability status is shown to other users in the system and affects how calls are handled when you are unavailable. You can change it using the status selector at the top of the sidebar, next to your name.

StatusWhat It Means
AvailableYou are at your desk and ready to take calls. Calls ring your extension normally.
AwayYou have stepped away. Callers may be forwarded to voicemail depending on your ring group settings.
Do Not Disturb (DND)All calls go directly to voicemail. Use this during meetings or focused work.
LunchSimilar to Away. Can be configured to forward calls to a colleague during lunch hours.
Business TripIndicates you are travelling. Useful if you want colleagues to see your availability at a glance.

Tip: Setting yourself to DND does not disconnect you from the system — you can still make outbound calls. It only blocks inbound calls from ringing your extension.

Staying Logged In

The 3CX web client will remain logged in as long as your browser tab is open and the browser is running. If you close the tab or the browser, you will need to log in again on your next visit unless your browser has saved your credentials.

To keep the web client available throughout the day, consider using the 3CX desktop app (available for Windows and Mac) instead, which runs in the system tray and maintains a persistent connection. Alternatively, the 3CX Chrome extension can keep you connected without a full browser tab open.

If you are logging in from a shared or public computer, do not save your password in the browser and log out manually when finished using the account menu in the top right corner.
